The JRHS softball field will be named after John Shotwell pictured here with his fiance.

From Shelia Profitt, Athletic Director at James River High School:

“On Friday, April 17th James River High School will be honoring John Shotwell. We will be dedicating our softball field–and naming the field the “John T. Shotwell” softball field at James River High School. The ceremony will begin at approximately 5:00 p.m.”

The school board voted in February to name the school field after Shotwell who has coached at JRHS for 47 years and coached three State Championship Girl’s Softball teams.
