Fatality on I-81 on Sunday night
Ronald Edward Cook III, age 25, of Woodbridge, died on Sunday night in a 2 vehicle crash on I-81 northbound at mile marker 171, reported state police public relations specialist Sgt. Rob Carpentieri of the Salem district office. The accident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, April 26.
A 2001 Freightliner tractor trailer was pulling back on to I-81when a 2005 Volvo S40 4Door vehicle reared ended the tractor trailer. Cook was the driver of the Volvo, he was wearing a seat belt said the state police.
He was pronounced dead at scene and no word on the driver of the tractor trailer. The investigation continues. There is no word on charges being issued, but may be pending, Carpentieri said.
