Botetourt County Parks, Recreation and Tourism held a Local Competition for the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run on Sunday, April 26 at the Botetourt Sports Complex. Players in four age groups competed to advance to the Sectional Competition to be held at the home of the Salem Red Sox, Lewis-Gale Field on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. The players that advanced were: 7-8 year-old age group – River Clonch, Emma Butler and Samantha Switzer, 9-10 year-old age group – Matthew Whitely, Austin Woody and Maranda Switzer, 11-12 year-old age group – Kyle Kennedy and Davis Sears and the 13-14 year-old age group – Conner Bronson. Congratulations to the players advancing and to all players that attended this event.
