Getting to know three new principals in the school division
Tim Bane, Jessica Martin and Tim McClung have all been assistant principals in Botetourt County before receiving the nod to administer a school building as principal.
Tim Bane is the new principal at Lord Botetourt High School and was assistant principal at the school for nine years. He has made a decor change with the addition of red and gray to the lobby and halls. Known for order, he has moved his secretary Judy Dudding to the front office with him and she will also be a new face in the central office at the high school. Bane went to Virginia Tech and his favorite sports teams are any of the LBHS Cavalier teams playing and of course he is Hokie proud as well. In his spare time he reads John Grisham books and jogs for recreational exercise. Bane has been an educator for 26 years
Jessica Martin at Eagle Rock Elementary School has been a multi talented educator of high school and elementary school for twenty years. Martin has recently been at Greenfield and served as the school’s first assistant principal. Fresh from a trip to Belize she has arranged a pen pal exchange with a school there. Ms. Martin does eat her vegetables and is fond of broccoli and corn. She went to University of Southern Mississsppi and has a Masters in Education from UVA. If she could eat dinner with anyone in Botetourt County it would be to dine with her late grandmother Una Dooley.
Tim McClung at Central Academy Middle School spent five years at Read Mountain Middle School as assistant principal before taking the helm at Central Academy. McClung hails from Allegheny County and is an avid hunter. He has killed numerous deer and two bears! Also a Hokie undergraduate, he has a Masters in Education from UVA but he is quick to announce he is a Hokie fan being found in Lane Stadium when he is not in the woods on Saturdays in the fall. He has coached football and softball in his career. He lives with his family in the Catawba area.
