LBHS holds first day of schedule pickup
The LBHS parking lot was packed by 12:45 on Thursday, Aug. 6, and students armed with schedules compared the first semester with friends while parents paid fees. Indeed Back to School is 13 days away! Spiritwear and 50th anniversary t-shirts and polos are on sale. The PTA and Booster Club were drawing memberships from the attendees. A student sport pass for the year is $25 and a family of four $200, announced the sign by busy AD Chuck Pound. The school will hold a second day of schedule pick up on Monday August 10.
Nilah Wilson, an incoming freshman accompanied by her mom and siblings, smiled broadly and said, “I am very excited.” Plenty of excitement abounded in the red and gray striped lobby and halls painted by the summer paint crew made-up by mostly former LBHS students who now attend college. Inside the principal’s office Tim Bane made changes on student schedules. Judy Dudding will be the front secretary and she appeared ready for the job, grabbing the phone while answering counter questions from students and parents.
