People to People Ambassadors form Lord Botetourt go to the land Down Under

The above photo to taken in Sydney, Australia includes two Lord Botetourt High seniors, Tarak Shukla (L) and Hayley Alderman (C) (along with fellow delegation member Adam Caldwell of Salem High School) who recently returned from a 10-day trip as Student Ambassors in the PeopleToPeople Student Travel Program. The delegation of 30 area students traveled to Sydney, Cairns, The Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane and the Gold Coast as part of the PTP program that was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Every President since then has been honorary chairman of the program. Hayley, Tarak and the other delegation members enjoyed a variety of cultural and societal experiences while in Australia, including an in-home stay with Australian families during their visit to the land down under. submitted by Alderman family
