Eagle Rock Elementary celebrates Pilgrims

Pilgrims and Native American Guests at Eagle Rock Elelmentary School on November 22

Pilgrims and Native American guests at Eagle Rock Elementary School on November 22.

On Tuesday, November 22, the first graders experienced what life was like in the time of the Pilgrims. Teacher, Rachel Davis, organized Pilgrim Day. With the help of parents and friends of the school volunteers, the students made candles and butter. They also designed quilt squares and built clay pots. Parent volunteers included Sherry Watkins, Mary Bobbitt, Bobbie VanNess, Chrystal Lowrance, Karen Sayers, and Toni Cason. The first grade students were encouraged to dress either as Pilgrims or American Indians. Pictured are Chaney Hill (left) making butter while Logan Craighead waits his turn.
