Botetourt County investigators have made two arrests in a home invasion incident that occurred on December 28, 2009. (See our original coverage here.)

George Theodore Fitzgerald and Kevin Wayne Ferguson, both 32 and of Roanoke, have been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, breaking and entering, two counts of abduction, wearing a mask, two counts of robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Shortly after midnight on December 28, 2009, three subjects entered the home of an elderly couple on Glebe Hill Road in Daleville and awakened the residents. The couple was forced at gunpoint to lead them to their home safe, but the victim was too nervous to open it. In addition to taking the safe, the trio also took a purse from one of the victims.

Investigators have been working diligently on this case since it was reported. The investigation continues in regard to the third suspect.

Hopefully, the Judge will put these two in jail for a long, long time. This is a VERY serious offense, and these guys are old enough to know better. To come from Roanoke, with such bad intentions, yes, a Botetourt County Judge needs to put them away for a VERY long time.

Emphasis on Botetourt county judge, not Roanoke City. I have a number of friends who are Roanoke city police officers. They are disgusted about the leniency of Roanoke City judges. They are wrist slappers. FYI: the state police are fully aware of this and they patrol 581 on the Roanoke county side rather than the city side.l Why risk your neck when the judge is going to let them off.

Wow and to think I know these hood rats!!!! It is a shame they act like this.. I really do believe some people will never grow up.. Now they get to spend some more time behind bars not thinking of how their family hurts for them…sad sad situation.. I hope the judge puts them under the jail with another one of their friends I could name but I wont!!!
