Halloween in the Town of Fincastle
Ghost walk: Saturday October 30. Town of Fincastle with Central Academy Middle School, The Botetourt County Historical Society and Historic Fincastle Inc. Students take visitors on a tour of the ghostly side of town based on research done over the years by CAMS students. Cookies and punch for free in the History museum. Tours begin on court house steps. This is the 11th year of the event begun in 1999 by the gifted and talented students at CAMS. Tickets are purchased the night of event in museum.Cost involved: $5 for adults, $3 for students
Halloween night Sunday, October 31:
Halloween Trick or Treat will be celebrated in Fincastle on October 31. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Children will meet at the drugstore corner. Each child needs to bring an unopened, commercially sealed (no ziploc baggies) bag of candy. In exchange for their candy, they will receive a ticket which they can exchange for a mixture of candy at the end of the parade.
Halloweenies, a community outreach will take place on October 31 in the Town of Fincastle at the Family Life Center of Fincastle United Methodist Church. Free hot dogs, drinks and candy are available in the back parking lot. Hot dogs are served from 6:30 p.m – 8 p.m.
A six minute Dracula short movie filmed by Botetourt resident Ian Kyle in Fincastle for the SyFi channel, will premier in Fincastle on Sunday, October 31 inside the Family Life Center at Fincastle United Methodist Church for three showings. Times are in the evening at: 6:45, 7:15 and 7:45.
