Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department Fourth of July Carnival – July 1 through July 9th Enjoy and old fashioned Fourth of July Carnival in downtown Buchanan. Voted as “Best Community Event” by readers of the Roanoke Times Botetourt View, enjoy a traditional Carnival featuring Games, Rides, Food and Great Music. Activities begin at 6:30pm each evening except Sunday.
Fireworks – Enjoy Buchanan’s spectacular Fireworks display during the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department Carnival on Monday, July 4th at 10:00pm and Saturday, July 9th at 11:00pm.
Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department Fourth of July Parade – Join hundreds as they line Main Street, or, take part in the annual BVFD Fourth of July Parade on Monday, July 4th. Main Street will close at 5:00pm from Stop In to Groendyke and the parade will begin making its way down Main Street at 6:00pm. To enter, call the Buchanan Town Hall at 540-254-1212. Festivities will begin on the Carnival Grounds following the parade, with announcement of winners to take place at the Carnival Grounds following the parade. Trophies may be picked up at the Main Office on the Carnival Grounds.
Buchanan’s Friday Night Cruise In – Step back in time during Buchanan’s Antique & Classic Auto Cruise In on Friday, July 15th beginning 5:30pm through 8:00pm. Stroll through dozens of antique autos lining Main Street, shop, stroll and dine along Main Street as you take advantage of extended hours offered by many of the downtown businesses. While you are here, be sure to register at the Buchanan Special Events Committee Booth for an opportunity to win a $25 Gas Gift Certificate. Please note that due to the Carnival, the date of Cruise In has been changed this month to Friday, July 15th.
Buchanan Bicentennial Picnic on the Park – Save the date of Saturday, July 23rd for the Buchanan Bicentennial Picnic on the Park. Buchanan Civic Organizations and Churches are invited to set up 10′ x 10′ displays on the Town Park as part of the event. The public is invited to enjoy activities beginning at 4:30pm including games, bring your own picnic dinner and enjoy a concert at 7:00pm featuring Exit 162.
