Photos: James River vs Staunton River and it rained a river!

It was a wet first half at James River High School as the clouds poured rain upon the two “Rivers” engaged in a gridiron battle.  The field turned to a muddy mess by halftime making play difficult for both teams.  Staunton River emerged victorious.

At half time two famous JRHS sports figures were inducted into the  school’s Hall of Fame: softball standout Angela Tincher and coaching icon John Shotwell were the Class of 2011-12 Hall of Fame winners.

Shotwell and Tincher also handed out state championship rings to the 2011 State 1A girls softball team.
