DiGrassie spoke at horseman’s association meeting
Dr. Wynne DiGrassie, Mountain View Equine Hospital, spoke about herbs and their use in horses at Botetourt County Horseman’s Association’s first meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Horse owners learned about herbs such as Witch Hazel and its use for clotting wounds in horses or treating hives, lavender for calming and pain relief, and peppermint oil for sore throats and colic. The association’s next meeting will be held on February 7, 7 p.m. at Bellacino’s in Daleville.
Activities and educational speakers this year already include the popular BCHA Horse Tack ‘n Trade in March, a first aid and wound seminar in May, and a spring and fall trail ride. Visit them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BCHA-VA for details on activities throughout the year.
