Help Botetourt get film site for Baldacci’s “Wish You Well” Movie

Looking for waterfalls, barns, buildings. Help Botetourt get the film location for "Wish You well."

David Baldacci is one of America’s foremost authors and has a summer place at Smith Mountain Lake.  Life Out Loud Productions is planning to make a movie out of his book, “Wish You Well” and Botetourt is considered as a potential location for filming.

Here are some suggestions from Lisa Moorman, Tourism Coordinator, to help our county get some of the the film location (which would be great!)

“Botetourt County is being considered for a Film Project!”

Life Out Loud Films is working to make David Baldacci’s book “Wish You Well” into a screenplay, and Botetourt County is being considered as the production location!

Botetourt County Office of Tourism applied in the fall of 2011 for a chance to bring this film to Botetourt and to highlight our community. The company has narrowed the applications down from 15 to 4 semi-finalists and is very interested in the assets Botetourt County has to offer, such as the Buchanan Theatre, our historic buildings, train depot and tracks, old schoolhouses, county courthouse, waterfalls, wishing wells, mine entrances, downtowns and the scenic views of our countryside, barns and farms.

The production company is seeking a location with community support and enthusiasm.  Please visit their Facebook page “Wish You Well Movie” and share photos, videos, and comments that may help us promote Botetourt County, our small towns and the many assets we have to offer.
