The Lord Botetourt boys basketball team defeated William Byrd 54-51 on Tuesday in the opening round of the regional tournament. Next up: The Cavaliers play Amherst County on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Staunton River.

The Lord Botetourt girls are in action tonight up in Harrisonburg against Broadway; if anyone is going, please share photos at news@botetourtview.com — we’ve been searching for a photographer there, but so far have come up empty-handed.
Meanwhile, the James River girls are at home tonight at 7 p.m. vs. Graham; the James River boys lost last night to Fort Chiswell. If you have photos of either of those games, we’d love those, too!
