Delaines closing is an opening for Deborah Quirin

Project Ruth Deborah Quirin and Roma children in Romania.Closing Delaines opens new avenues for Quirin.
Another Botetourt business is closing. After almost five years, Delaines a formal wear and bridal shop just north of Troutville will close by the end of May. Owner Deborah Quirin fresh from a mission trip to Eastern Europe with Project Ruth and working with Roma (Gypsy) children, is moving into new areas.
“I have loved the shop, met so many people and I have grown.” She said that everything is on sale at Delaines. Shoes, dresses, wedding gowns, jewelry. Everything is at least 40% off. Selling to the bare walls leaves her sad, but she commented, “I’ve had a good run and now it is time to move into the next phase of my life.”
Indeed she does. Two grandchildren are in her life and she wants to spend more time with them. She has a new love in her business world as well. Photography. She has been taking photos of high school seniors, weddings and special events. She will have more flexibility and judging by the examples of her work on the walls and counter, she is very good at it! She is also looking to the mission trip world. Sometimes she noted, she has been the first and only person to take children’s pictures in third world and impoverished areas.
