The 29th annual Knight of the Arts took place at James River High School on Thursday, May 17. JRHS grad Ch. 7 weatherman Brent Watts served as MC. Led off by the school choir with selections from Irving Berlin and from Phantom of the Opera. The next event that  followed was an hilarious scene performed by the Drama Club from the play “You Can’t Beat the House.”

The Literary Magazine for 2011– Currents is out and can be purchased for $6 at the school. (Running a little late from last year.) This year’s 2012 won second place in the state by just one point. The magazine has been award winning through the years and the 2012 Currents is in final production.

The annual Art show featured Adam Ferguson with his body of work as Best in Show, Sierra Clonch as best use of medium and Ferguson tied with Tess Dryzmala for People’s Choice. The grand finale was the Knight’s stage band performing a piece from “Lord of the Rings.”

A full listing of art show winners will come later from Dorothy Barnett.
