Sharyn McCrumb to speak at Blue Ridge Library May 24
Award winning ballad novel and mystery writer Sharyn McCrumb will speak at Blue Ridge Library May 24.
Sharyn McCrumb will be making a talk at the Blue Ridge Library on May 24 at 7 PM. Ms. McCrumb is an award-winning Southern writer, best known for her Appalachian “ballad” novels, including the New York Times bestsellers, She Walks These Hills, The Rosewood Casket, and The Ballad of Frankie Silver. Michael Hardy, a North Carolina Civil War historian will also be appearing with her. Mr. Hardy wrote the foreward to her novel Ghost Riders which is set during the Civil War. Sharyn McCrumb is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with an M.A. from Virginia Tech. In 2005, McCrumb was honored as Writer of the Year at Emory & Henry College and in 2008, she was named a “Virginia Woman of History” for Achievement in Literarture.
