Botetourt Ladies Golf Association holds golf tournament

Botetourt Ladies Golf Association held their annual member-guest golf tournament on June 16, 2012. Thirty-eight lady golfers participated in the tea party themed tournament. Guests were from as far as South Carolina and surrounding Virginia counties.
Tournament chairpersons Judi Race and Gail McCampbell decorated the club house and course with delicate flower arrangements and a variety of tea cups and pots to create an environment of an old fashioned tea party. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, planned by Judi and Gail, based on the tea party theme. Several members and guests donned original tea party hats for the festive and fun tournament.
First place winners of the tournament were Penny McIver and her guest, Laverne Dillon. First place gross score winners were Gail McCampbell and her guest, Debbie Young. Second place gross winners were Fay Stewart and her guest, Ethel Waldron. Gwen Griffith and her guest, Linda Doolittle captured second place net. Third place net was won by Mary Ann Childress and guest, Kay Pearson. Gertie Moore and guest Margaret Strong won fourth place net.
