Girl Scouts work at LAP for Silver Award project

Girl Scout Cadette Troop #3149 is working for the Silver Award. They just completed a project for the League for Animal Protection in Fincastle. They cleared the area by the road, planned and built a rock wall enclosure and then filled, planted, and mulched it. They also completed some outdoor painting up at the shelter. Members are (Left to right in picture 3149_Project) Delaney Alls, Savannah Amos, Josie Wiegandt, Jamie LaPrade, and Heather Royal. Their idea was to make the shelter more of a presence at the road and hope this will help encourage folks to turn in and check out the many rescued animals at the no kill shelter. The troop would like to thank The Landscape Store on Alt 220 in Cloverdale for their generous donation of materials. All the girls are rising 8th graders in Botetourt County. Leaders are Beth Wiegandt and Kim LaPrade.

The girls have finished most of their Silver Award work, but will not complete all the requirements until the end of summer.
