Benefit for Jackie Lusk is Sunday August 5th 5-9 p.m. at Buchanan Moose Lodge

Jackie Lusk of Buchanan is battling the return of breast cancer. A benefit is scheduled for her Aug. 5 at the Buchanan Moose Lodge.
Jackie Lusk of Buchanan is only 42. She battled breast cancer a couple of years ago and her prognosis looked good. Unfortunately, she had the cancer return this year and it has spread. She will not be able to get disability until the fall. “She can not work due to the treatment she is receiving so her friends are staging a music benefit to help her,” said Karen Bier.
On August 5, several bands including “Tennesse Bound” with Travis Bier, David Austin and Keith Wood, and singer Mike Jacobs will be on stage at the Buchanan Moose Lodge from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
There’s a $5 cover charge for the benefit. Lusk still has one daughter at home and in school, so this is a trying time not only for her, but her family as well. All proceeds will benefit Lusk.
“A bake sale will be held during the event.” People are encouraged to come and enjoy the music and dance the evening away. A 50-50 and a silent auction will be held as well. If anyone wants to donate a prize to the silent auction, contact Karen Bier at MissKittywrites@gmail.com.
