From Courts of Virginia the official case site this morning comes the confirmation of a rumor circulating in north Botetourt County yesterday. Buchanan Fire Chief Billy Joe Carter has been summoned on an assault  charge by another Buchanan resident, Wayne E. Adkins.

When reached by phone, Maj. Delbert Dudding of the Botetourt Sheriff’s Department said that it was his understanding that the pair had sworn out warrants against each other. There is no information on Adkins in the Courts of Virginia case information as of 10:55 a.m.

Carter has already been in the news this week for  his refusal to sign a warrant for using obscene and threatening language towards The Iron Firemen.com blogger, Capt. Willie Wines who is a Roanoke City Fire Department Captain.
