The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred today around 12:10 pm on Route 11 three tenths of a mile north of Route 622 in Botetourt County. The investigation revealed that a 2000 Mack tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on Route 11 when the driver ran off the left side of the roadway striking an embankment and then several trees.
The driver was identified as Harry Addison Siler, age 73, of Natural Bridge, Virginia. Siler was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
