CARILION CLINIC NOW OFFERING MYCHART MOBILE APP

ROANOKE, Va. (Aug. 27, 2012) – Carilion Clinic has launched a MyChart app for iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets. MyChart, the first online healthcare management tool in Southwest Virginia, provides patients secure 24/7 access to portions of their electronic medical record.

“MyChart is a convenient, easy way to manage personalized health information. Now being able to access this information via mobile devices is one more way we are trying to make healthcare management easier for our patients,” said Anthony Stavola, M.D., vice chair, Department of Family and Community Medicine at Carilion Clinic. “It is our hope that patients feel better connected to their healthcare providers and more proactive in managing their health.”

The new mobile app allows patients to see test results, communicate with their doctor’s office via secure e-mail, view upcoming appointments, and review their medication, allergy, and immunization listings. More than 20,000 Carilion patients use MyChart, which is offered in all Carilion primary care practices.

Carilion Clinic is the region’s only healthcare provider offering MyChart.
