    Dear Ms. Benson,
I write in my capacity of Director of Communications at Chado Ralph Rucci in New York and in an effort to clarify what was written here.

Ms. Ptak did not freelance for Chado Ralph Rucci for 12 seasons at all. It was more like four or five. Additionally, it states in your blog that she will be “showing actual Chado evening wear and daywear garments . . .” It is quite frankly beyond our comprehension how it is that Ms. Ptak is in possession of “actual Chado garments” as she is not now and has never been a client. I would appreciate your clarifying that point for me.

You may feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Lord knows, I have a few of my own!

    Dear Ms. Benson & readers,

I sewed & embellished on the Haute Couture & RTW seasons which ran four times a year (2 Haute Couture in Jan & July & 2 RTW in Feb & Sept) for several seasons before Rosina joined the firm so she may not be aware how long I was there as she was not there yet when Ralph & Annarita hired me in Jan 2003. I remained until the 1st 2006 season.

I certainly do not claim to be a representative of his firm. I am purely an educator, fashion collector & historian who will be recalling verbally the wonderful experiences of her freelance work in NYC, 3 years freelancing for his firm and additional time working as a pattern maker for another NYC designer. I have only wonderful things to say of the entire firm, their grand treatment of employees & their glorious clothing.

The Chado Ralph Rucci garments I own were purchased by me from Neiman Marcus. They were available at retail and anyone could purchase them. They are part of my vast fashion collection of many celebrated Japanese, English, Parisian & American designers which I show to fashion students to instruct them in the finest methods used by the finest design houses in the world. This is the same teaching method used by all fashion design schools and all fashion historians.

In this article there are a few misstatements which do actually need clarifying. I was a season 7 designer on TV and the garment I sewed on television would NOT be called a Haute Couture garment…The title Haute Couture is exclusively used in Paris by those rare & glorified designers who show collections there. I use those methods when I design & sew, however I would never deem to call myself a Haute Couture designer as I have too much respect for the actual & appropriate use of the term.

With respect & warm regards, Pamela

The Botetourt View used information Ms.Journell provided to us during an interview including information provided to her by Ms.Ptak. Journell said in an email she has corrected her flyer and website to reflect the new information.
The September events should still be lively and interesting in the Friday night event. Also particularly to those who love to sew, the classes in detailed sewing to learn more about the craft.

    Dear Cathy,
Thank you so much for your coverage of this exciting teaching event! I have already had an enthusiastic response from several college professors at two fashion schools in the region so I believe there will be a nice mix of enthusiastic sewers, fashion professionals and fashion students gathered for this weekend of fun & classes. You’re so kind to give us the exposure. I hope you can make it to the Friday night talk!
    Sincerely, Pamela Ptak
