CAMS and Lord Botetourt honored at YOVASO awards banquet
Approximately 160 people representing 40 high schools, three middle schools, and seven colleges throughout the state attended the 2012 Summer Leadership Retreat at Lynchburg College. Teens from across Virginia gathered to learn the importance of traffic safety. They will take the knowledge they learned throughout the week back with them to their schools and communities.
On Thursday, July 26, YOVASO hosted its annual Awards Banquet to recognize the individuals, schools and organizations that played an essential role in speading the YOVASO message in the 2011-2012 academic year.
Central Academy Middle School earned the Middle School of the Year Award in recognition of a YOVASO Middle School Club for outstanding efforts to promote future smart driving behavior among youth.
Lord Botetourt High School earned the Occupant Protection Award in recognition of outstanding efforts to promote safety belt use among youth.
