Former Botetourt resident seriously hurt in Utah train accident
Riding the rails can be dangerous. According to TV reports in Salt Lake City, Utah a former Lord Botetourt student David Frame, 19, was seriously injured and his dog killed after a load of steel they were riding from Colorado to California shifted. It trapped Frame and killed his dog Capone. Frame’s birth date is listed on Facebook as July 1993. Area students who knew Frame made many posts on Facebook yesterday about the accident.
In order to remove Frame from the accident scene his foot and part of his leg had to be amputated. His mother Milda Ray, told a Utah TV station that it had been hard to be away from her son in a hospital waiting room. Frame faces more surgery and is seriously ill. The accident took place on the afternoon of August 31.
A website with more details of the accident has been set-up to take donations for the young man’s care. Click here for the The David Frame Foundation where a multiple of ways to donate are featured.
