Tuesday, October 2nd: Storytime – Names. At this storytime, we’ll celebrate your name and who you are! After our stories, we’ll make a fun name train to take home. 10:30am. Sign up for this program at the front desk or call the library at 540-884-3880.

Wednesday, October 3rd: Knitting Club. Join other knitters and crocheters from the community for this informal get-together where you can learn, help others to improve their skills, and work on projects in a relaxing environment. Bring your own supplies, projects, tips, and ideas to share. 10:00am.

Thursday, October 4th: Eagle Walkers (Walking Club): Join us every Thursday as we walk our way to better health. 10:00am.

Thursday, October 4th: Monthly Movie – Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Hey kids! Join us for a free showing of Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Join Papi and his two and four-legged family as they move into a posh Beverly Hills hotel, complete with a luxurious doggy spa. But there’s trouble in puppy paradise when Rosa, the littlest member of the pack, feels smaller and less special than ever. Now it’s up to Papi to help Rosa find, and celebrate, her inner strength, which turns out to be bigger than she ever dreamed. Rated G/89 minutes. Starts at 2:45pm. Friday, October 5th: Craft Time – Pumpkin Funny Faces. Autumn is the perfect time for pumpkins! Join us for this fun craft where you’ll create your own pumpkin funny face using bowls, paint and your imagination. 2:45pm. Sunday, October 7th – Community Appreciation Day at the Blue Ridge Vineyard (Sponsored by the Friends of the Eagle Rock Library). Parents: are you looking for a fun, FREE activity to do with the kids over the Columbus Day holiday weekend? If so, come on down to the Blue Ridge Vineyard for Community Appreciation Day, sponsored by the Friends of the Eagle Rock Library! This is NOT a benefit, but a day to thank our community for the support it’s given the Eagle Rock Library during our first two and half years in operation. There will be free soup and sandwiches, free kids activities, a free dessert table with lots of home baked goodies, live music, and free prize giveaways all evening long. And representatives of the Roanoke Valley Astronomical Society will be on site to give you a close up view of the heavens with multiple high-powered telescopes! 3:00pm-8:00pm.

Monday, October 8th: The Library will be closed in observance of Columbus Day.

Tuesday, October 9th: Storytime – Autumn. What happens during Autumn? At this fun storytime, we’ll read and learn all about this wonderful season. For our craft, we’ll make beautiful Autumn leaf prints using real leaves and colorful paints. 10:30am. Sign up for this program at the front desk or call the library at 540-884-3880.

Monday, October 15th: Friends of the Library Monthly Meeting. Join our Friends Group and learn how you can help raise funds and support for the library. This meeting will be held in the library’s Conference Room. 6:00pm.
