Nighttime detours scheduled around Exit 168 on I-81 for Tuesday and Wednesday

As part of the project to replace the Route 614 (Arcadia Road) bridge over I-81 in Botetourt County, detours have been scheduled for northbound and southbound I-81 at mile marker 168.

The closures are necessary to remove the exiting beams from the structure. The detours are scheduled to be in place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 23, traffic will be detoured from I-81 northbound onto the Exit 168 off/on ramps and back onto I-81 northbound.
• On Wednesday, Oct. 24, traffic will be detoured from I-81 southbound onto the Exit 168 off/on ramps and back onto I-81 southbound.

State Police will be on site to help with traffic control. Motorists should watch for flaggers on Route 614.

The dates are dependent upon weather and work schedules.
