Project Access to host mobile mammography unit at Valley View Mall on Oct. 29

In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness, Project Access of the Roanoke Valley will be providing a mobile mammography unit to the community.

Project Access of the Roanoke Valley will host the UVA Mobile Mammography Coach Event Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held outside at Valley View Mall in the parking lot across from Panera Bread. Free mammograms will be offered to women who do not have insurance and have a limited income.

Pre-registration is required, and there is still space available. To pre-register for a free mammogram or for individuals who would like to find out more information call Project Access Monday-Thursday at 344-4200. Information can also be found at www.projectaccessroanoke.org.

The mission of Project Access of the Roanoke Valley is a physician driven, community supported, patient-centered program which exists to arrange and coordinate comprehensive healthcare services for the low-income uninsured in our area. Project Access of the Roanoke Valley is a nonprofit organization (501c3) that strives to improve the health care and well-being of low income uninsured persons by increasing and coordinating free care commitments made by area physicians and dentists and coordinating free care resources through community collaboration. Project Access provides an effective means to enhance access to care and improve the health of the people in the Roanoke Valley area.
