Ricky Crowder of Troutville was seen mowing his grass earlier in the day on Oct. 23. By evening he had been killed as a result of a crash near McDonalds on Rt. 11 in Troutville. Virginia State Police have said Richard Crowder, 58, was driving his 2012 Honda motorcycle south on U.S. 11 about 5:20 p.m. A 2007 Ford Focus driven by  Mohanlal Jagodara, 50, of Troutville  turned left off Old Route 604 ( near Dodge’s Store.) He crossed into the motorcycle’s path.

Crowder was hit  by the car and even though he had on a helmet, later died from his injuries after being taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Jagodara,  has been charged with reckless driving. State police continue to investigate the accident.
