Photos: LBHS Key Club holds Cookies for Kids Cancer fundraiser
The Lord Botetourt High School KEY Club held its 2nd Annual “Cookies for Kids Cancer” fundraiser. Our schoolwide goal was to collect $1,500. With the help of a classroom competition, the school raised $2,800! We started this campaign to help our librarian’s nephew, who suffers from neuroblastoma. Last year, we raised $1,500. Two freshmen helped run the campaign this year: Alex Lesniak (pictured, left) and Lindsey McLucas. The one picture is showing cutout cookies that we put up for every student donating $3.
Other events: Keep ‘Em Warm winter clothing drive for the RAM house through Dec. 12. Public donations of slightly warn winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, or blankets will be accepted. Leave items in the main office of LBHS attention: Mrs. Roberts. Over 200 cards written and send to American Red Cross for the Holiday for Heroes program.
Volunteer for Dogtoberfest for St. Francis Service Dogs, Ronald McDonald House, and Habitat for Humanity.
Future events: Local Angel Tree children and St. Francis Service Doggie Angels.
Winter Formal Dance will be held on February 9th – all proceeds will go to our Relay for Life Team.
