Save Dec 14 for Rachel’s Challege Event at LB-JR boys basketball game
Save the date: Dec. 14, 2012.
It is an important community event: Rachel’s Challenge. Events begin at 5 p.m. prior to the county high school match up of the Lord Botetourt and James River boys basketball game in Daleville. Rachel’s Challenge promotes kindness in high schools and middle schools across the world. More importantly the precepts can be applied to daily life.Games, face painting, air brushed tatoos, a school and community drive for Carilion Children’s Clinic, an Act of Kindness award, are all part of the night and much more!
Just this week a video went viral of a New York City policeman buying shoes for a homeless man. It is a snapshot of what Rachel’s Challenge teaches in a message that brings the idea of kindness to millions of students around the world.
More information about the student led week long events, both middle school and high schools, Rachel’s Challenge will be coming next week.
“Save the date for now. You will be glad you did.” said Supervisor for Secondary Education, Dr. Joni Poff.
