HM Williamson Jr. retires as Bank of Fincastle’s Chairman of the Board
HM Williamson Jr. has retired as Chairman of the Board at The Bank of Fincastle after 47 years of dedicated service. Williamson began his banking career in 1965 as assistant cashier when the Bank had only one office (in Fincastle) and three employees. Today, the bank has grown to eight offices with 72 employees.
Williamson was elected president and CEO in 1975 and retired from daily operations in 1987. As technology advanced, under his leadership, the bank’s first computer system was installed. In 1990, Williamson became Chairman of the Board and continued in that position until September 2012. He has been instrumental in the growth and development of the Bank of Fincastle and serving the banking needs of the people in Botetourt County.
Williamson resides in Fincastle and is a lifelong resident of Botetourt County. John Kilby, chairman and CEO, commented that the bank, employees and Board of Directors will miss Harry Mac’s wise counsel and presence on the board and wish him well in his retirement.
