Rachel’s Challenge Dec 14 activities and list of donation items for Carilion Children’s Clinic

The week of Dec. 10- 14 Botetourt County middle and high schools will celebrate a “Week of Kindness.” The schools will  be gathering items for donation to Carilion Children’s Clinic. The event culminates in a pre-game event  prior  to the Lord Botetourt and James River Boys basketball games on Friday evening Dec. 15 beginning at 5 p.m. at Lord Botetourt.

The community at large is encouraged to take part in the events. If  people so desire and are encouraged to do so, they may bring in any of the following items to Lord Botetourt and add to the donations. The list follows: Crayons, colored pencils, journal, Hotwheels, Coloring books, cars and trucks, Baby dolls, gift cards and stuffed animals.

The activities for the evening of December 14 are:

Lord Botetourt vs. James River Boys’ Basketball game

Date: December 14th

Times: 5:00 – 6:30

Where: Lord Botetourt Cafeteria

Events at Pre-Game Party: Corn Hole Tournament, Airbrushed Tattoos, Hair Braiding, Nail Painting, Crazy Tricycle Obstacle Course, Parachute Bracelets.

Prize Give Away: Any RMMS, LB, CAMS, or JR student who comes to the pre-game party will have his or her name entered into a drawing for an IPAD. The drawing will take place between the 3rd and 4th quarter of the basketball game; the student must be present to win.

Come to the pre-game party, then go cheer on the Lord Botetourt or James River Boys basketball team!
