SPCA’s pet calendar to feature work by Troutville artist Judith Lochbrunner
The poster for the Roanoke Valley SPCA’s 2013 “Best in Show” features a painting Troutville artist Judith Lochbrunner. The painting also titled “Best in Show” shows local pets enjoying the art show.
Lochbrunner’s painted paper collage “Play Day” was selected for the cover of the 2013 SPCA Pet Calendar at the 2012 art show. The collage features a dog, cat and rabbit who were all adopted from SPCA shelters by members of her family.
Each year an art work from the “Best in Show” is selected for the cover of the SPCA’s pet calendar. The calendar is the largest fundraiser for the SPCA providing vital funds for the care of the animals as well as programs at the shelter. The 2013 “Best in Show” will be held Feb. 22, 2013, at the Taubman Museum. Prints of the poster painting will also be for sale to support the SPCA.
Additional art work by Lochbrunner can be seen at 2nd Helpings Gallery and Black Dog in Roanoke, Tinkerings in Salem and Goose Creek Studio in Bedford.
