Ernie Dale, activities  coordinator for Modern  Woodmen of America, will be hosting the dinner. MWA will  pay $3.00 of  the cost of each person’s meal.

Church Basement Ladies @  Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre – Bus  Trip

A celebration of the church  basement  kitchen and the ladies who work
there. Church Basement Ladies is a new   musical comedy featuring four
Lutheran
women, their pastor and their   relationships as they organize the food and
solve the problems of a  rural  Minnesota church about to undergo changes in 1965. Funny and  down to earth,  audiences will recognize these ladies as they witness  the church year unfold  from below the house of God.

Valentine  Dinner Theatre

The group will feast on an all you  can eat, all inclusive,  Family Style Meal, consisting of such things  as: Fried Chicken, Meat Loaf,  Country Ham, Barbeque Ribs, Pinto Beans,  Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn, Slaw,  Baked Apples, Pan Bread, a  Valentine Dessert, Coffee and Tea.

Delbert, Bernadine, Mother Duncan and all  the rest are back in this laugh-filled sequel to  Peace In The Valley with songs  like “I’ll Fly Away,” “We Gather  Together,” “Blessed Assurance,” “Heavenly  Sunlight” and “Leaning On  The Everlasting Arms.” In these times, this PEACE is  just what we need  – an inspiring, uplifting musical comedy!

A Taste of Nashville – Bus Trip

The  Botetourt County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a bus trip to Nashville, TN, Friday-Sunday, March 1-3, 2013.
DAY 1: Today, you  will  have a chance to see Cooters Place, The Opryland Hotel and other  Nashville  attractions. This evening, we attend a show at the Nashville  Night Life Dinner  Theatre. There are celebrity appearances in this  celebration of Country Music  from past and present.
DAY 2: This  morning, we visit the gravesite of Mother  Maybelle Carter, June Carter  Cash and Johnny Cash. We will also do our Homes of  the Stars Tour and  make our way to the former Twitty City. We then make our way  to Music

Row where you will have lunch on your own. We will point out some of   the
famous Nashville landmarks. We have some special surprises for you. You will have time to visit some of the things on your own.
This  evening, you may  choose (on your own) to visit Opry Mills, the Opryland Hotel, The Grande Ole  Opry or the Texas Troubadour Theatre -  all within walking distance from your  hotel. There is also a shuttle  available.

Charlottesville,  Culpepper, Manassas, Alexandria and several small  towns, communities and farms  on it’s journey. You will cross the  Potomac River by rail and see the Cherry  Blossoms as you enter D.C.  When arriving at Union Station, there will be a large  food court and  shops to visit. Next door to the train station is the National  Museum  of the United States Postal Service.

Bus Trip to Greenbrier  Bunker

The  Botetourt County Parks, Recreation and  Tourism and the Franklin County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a bus trip to  tour the Greenbrier Bunker, White Sulphur Springs, WV, on Saturday, April 20,  2013.
The United States Government maintained a Top-Secret Underground Buner during the Cold War. The Bunker, built under the Greenbrier, was designed to house the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate in  case of Nuclear Attack. The facility remained a secret for 35 years,  and was never used,  until an investigative reporter from the  Washington Post disclosed the secret.
The group will have a guided tour  of the bunker and then have a self-guided tour of the hotel. The  Greenbrier has hosted Presidents and many  other famous  dignitaries.
. Lunch is included at the Mason Jar in White  Sulphur  Springs, WV.
After leaving the bunker, the group will make a picture   stop at the
Humpback Covered Bridge. This is one of eight remaining  covered  bridges in the state of Virginia.

Our local guide will take us  to see Floyd’s Barber Shop, Andy’s  boyhood home, granite buildings, the world’s  largest open faced  granite quarry and replicas of Wally’s Service Station and  the  Mayberry Jail and Courthouse.
You
will also see the Andy and Opie  statue  plus a collection of memorabilia from the Andy Griffith Show at  the Andy  Griffith Museum. there will also be a tour of the Gertrude  Smith house which is  a 1903 Victorian style home.
Lunch is included at  Snappy Lunch where Andy  often had lunch as a young lad.
