Veterans deliver donated goods for homeless Vets

VFW Post 5895 in Buchanan’s members Don Mountcastle (left) and Ken Proffitt (right)received plenty of Christmas cheer homeless vets at the Salem V.A.

Two Botetourt area veterans helped homeless veterans find some Christmas cheer. Past Quartermaster Ken Proffitt and Past Post Commander Don Mountcastle  of VFW Post 5895 in Buchanan traveled to Lynchburg area WalMarts with a plea for assistance. They received 50 bags of  Christmas gifts for  veterans at the Salem Veteran’s Administration. 13-14 central Virginia Walmarts participated in the drive. The duo delivered the gifts earlier this month to be packaged and gifted during the Christmas season.
