Buchanan Carnival buildings and parcels conveyed to the Town of Buchanan on Jan. 22, 2013.

After a brief public hearing, Botetourt County Board of Supervisors on Jan 22,  conveyed the  Ground Parcels 65A(5) 1,2, 56, 57 from the County to the Town.  The Town of Buchanan will now own the buildings and land on the carnival grounds. In the past month the town, which has agreed to operate the carnival since the volunteer fire department has disbanded, has decided on the ride company and developed a committee to carry on the 60th year of the Buchanan Carnival.  The buildings in the conveyance include the food stands, ticket stands, restrooms, game stands and pavilions.

Buchanan Supervisor Terry Austin made the motion to convey the property and the board passed it unanimously.
