EMS TRAINING WEEKEND – The first in a series of Continuing Education training weekends hosted by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Emergency Medical Services program was held January 12-13 on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus.DSLCC has experienced great success with its EMS program and interest in the courses continues to grow. The establishment of the program and the means through which it has been expanded were made possible through generous funding from the Alleghany Foundation. The Foundation’s investment in this program attests to its commitment to work toward the betterment of the Alleghany Highlands.
During the fall semester, 55 continuing education seminars amounted to over 90 hours of training time and were taught to a total of 372 students. Daniel and Mann are both certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as Paramedics; Mann, also a Registered Nurse, is the DSLCC EMS program director. The next training weekend is scheduled February 9-10. For more information, contact Mann at (540) 863-2832 or Daniel at (540) 968-2097.
