FFA Alumni Banquet will be Feb. 4

First annual banquet and dues for 2013!

The Botetourt County FFA Alumni Chapter will be holding its’ 1st Annual FFA Alumni member banquet on Monday February 4th in the Lord Botetourt High School Cafeteria. This is open to all current FFA Alumni members along with anyone that is interested in joining the Botetourt County FFA Alumni Chapter. The FFA Alumni is open to anyone that wishes to support agricultural education in the county schools and support and grow the local FFA chapters. The evening festivities will include a catered meal prepared by the FFA members. After the meal Alumni members will hear a short presentation from all of the local FFA chapters from Botetourt County, hear an update from the Alumni Executive Committee on the chapter’s accomplishments over the past year and conduct a short business session. We will be collecting dues at the banquet for all of those who need to renew their membership or wish to join.

The majority of the $20.00 paid in dues goes to support our local FFA chapters. The FFA relies on alumni members for help with recruiting students and raising funds for chapter activities and scholarships. FFA Alumni members also assist at FFA camps and conferences, the state and national FFA conventions and other personal development programs. Through their commitment to FFA and agricultural education, FFA Alumni help guide the young people in their communities down the path to success.

The FFA’s Mission is that the “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.” We are very proud of the accomplishments that we have made over our first year and encourage you to join us and we help the local FFA chapters fulfill this mission.

If you are unable to attend our banquet and would like to renew your dues or join the Botetourt County FFA Alumni you can mail your $20.00 annual dues payable to the Botetourt County FFA Alumni, 1435 Roanoke Road, Daleville VA 24083. Please include your phone number, mailing address and email address so we can keep you up to date on FFA alumni news and events.

If you would like more information about the FFA or the FFA alumni talk to one of our local FFA advisors or feel free to call or email Stuart Byrd at (540)992-1261 sbyrd@bcps.k12.va.us or visit us at www.bcps.k12.va.us/lord-botetourt-ffa, www.ffa.org/GetInvolved/Alumni or you can contact any of our Alumni Executive committee members.
