School Board reorganizes for 2013
In the regular school board meeting on Jan. 10, the board reorganized for 2013. Ruth Wallace once again was elected chairman of the board. Kathy Sullivan was elected vice chairman. Committee assignments for board members were also assigned for the year. The entire board will participate in budget committee meetings. Regional board: Michael Beahm Valley District; Governor’s School boards: John Alderson, Fincastle district; Parks and Recreation: Scott Swortzel Blue Ridge District; Botetourt Education Foundation: Ruth Walllace Amsterdam District; Character Counts Committee: Kathy Sullivan Buchanan; Calendar committee: Ruth Wallace, CTE Advisory Committee: Scott Swortzel: Local Gifted Advisory Committee: John Alderson.

January 10, 2013,February 14, 2013,March 14, 2013,April 11, 2013,May 9, 2013,June 13, 2013, July 11, 2013, August 8, 2013, September 12, 2013,October 10, 2013,November 14, 2013, December 12, 2013.
Meetings are held at the Central Administration Office, 143 Poor Farm Road, Fincastle, VA. Regular School Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m., but are subject to change.
Work sessions will allow the school board to look at pertinent topics in closer detail before bringing it to vote or into policy.
2013 Work Session Meeting Schedule: February 28, 2013, April 25, 2013, June 27, 2013, August 22, 2013, October 24, 2013, December 19, 2013*. The Botetourt County School Board is reserving the fourth Thursday of each even numbered month for work sessions.
