Steve Snuffer remembered by Board of Supervisors proclamation
On Tuesday Jan. 22, 2012 at the Botetourt Board of Supervisors meeting a proclamation was read in honor of Steve Snuffer. Snuffer died in October of 2012. Snuffer was a representative on the sports fields and courts of Botetourt County in many aspects for over 30 years. He refereed, coached and served in Botetourt County recreation sports as well as a high school official. He coached JV basketball at Lord Botetourt High School in recent years. Snuffer was a James River High School graduate. Garland Humphries, chairman of the Botetourt Parks and Recreation Commission read the proclamation.
“This is what he loved to do. He was a great person, a great grandfather and official,” said Ann Vassar. His grandchildren Ramsey, Carter and Hunter Vassar accepted the proclamation with her for the family.
