2013 Bike Virginia Tour information session is Wednesday, Feb. 27
Please join the organizers of the 2013 Bike Virginia Tour for a public information session on Feb. 27 at the Buchanan Theater from 6 to 8 p.m. The tour will host 1,600 cyclist for six days of bicycle touring through the Lexington/Buena Vista to Botetourt/Roanoke area June 21-26.
Everyone’s invited to attend the meeting – residents, media, business owners, local officials, bicycling enthusiasts, and community leaders. Get details on the June event and review our proposed bicycle touring routes to help us make
the best tour possible to showcase your community. Light refreshments will be served.
The tour will be headquartered in Rockbridge County for the first half of the tour and Botetourt County for the second half. Riders either camp at headquarters sites or stay in local hotels nearby in Lexington and Troutville. In the evening, they’ll enjoy music, exhibitors and other activities. Participants will enjoy up to 450 miles of bike riding over the six-day tour, exploring historical sites and other points of interest.
