Botetourt View community journalist Cathy Benson is at the state wrestling tournament in Salem and files this report from the afternoon’s consolation rounds:

* James River wrestlers Cody Snead and Tyler Harlow won their matches and now advance.
* Lord Botetourt wrestlers Sam Ring and Kyle Haley lost their matches.

As reported earlier, four James River wrestlers are advancing to the quarterfinals tonight after winning their first-round bouts: Luke Arney, Caleb Sink, Jonathan Lancenese and Owen Deacon.

UPDATE, 6:43 P.M. As the quarterfinals start, James River is now in fifth place.

UPDATE, 8:05 P.M.: James River’s Owen Deacon and Luke Arney won their quarterfinal matches tonight and advance to Saturday’s semi-finals. Cody Snead, Caleb Sink, Jonathan Lancenese and Tyler Harlow lost and now wrestle in consolation rounds later tonight.
