Just in time to shake the winter doldrums, members of the Buchanan Special Events Committee and Buchanan Town Improvement Society invite you and your family to enjoy a hearty meal of soup, fresh baked bread, cut vegetables and cherry cobbler as part of the group’s 15th Annual Souper Supper Fund Raiser. Dinner is being served in the historic Wilson Warehouse/Community House located at 421 Lowe Street. Cost of the meal is $7 per person, dine in, or, carry out. Dinner is being served beginning 4:00pm through 7:00pm.

Three mouthwatering soups are being been slow cooked for hours ensuring wonderful flavors and enticing aromas fill the historic Wilson Warehouse. Diners may select from Chicken Noodle, Taco Soup and Potato Soup with refills included in the meal. Choose one, or, sample several of your favorite soups.

The American classic comfort food, old-fashioned Chicken Noodle Soup is an annual favorite. With its flavorful stock, fresh cooked chicken, vegetables and egg noodles lending a starchy body to the broth this soup is sure to full you up.

It’s fiesta time! Healthy warm taco soup is a new favorite that everyone enjoys. Slow simmered ground beef, onions, tomatoes, beans, ranch and taco seasoning topped with your choice of shredded cheese and sour cream is sure to surprise your taste buds.

Warm and comforting, old-fashioned potato soup is a crowd favorite. Harkening back to grandma’s kitchen, this mix of potatoes, diced onions, butter, cheese and bacon will stick to your ribs.

Complementing the selection of soups are sliced vegetables, fresh baked breads, cherry cobbler and brownies. A perfect complement to soup, hot flaky buttermilk biscuits, old fashioned southern cornbread and fresh from the over farm white bread are great topped with melted butter. Finish off your evening with a slice of fresh baked cherry cobbler, or, chocolate chewy brownies each topped with vanilla ice cream.

Proceeds from the evening’s activities help cover expenses associated with planting the flower barrels along Main Street, the Civil War Weekend, the Arts Festival, Mountain Magic In Fall and Twilight in Buchanan.
