Four James River wrestlers advance to state quarterfinals
Botetourt View community journalist Cathy Benson is on the scene at the state wrestling tournament at the Salem Civic Center and files this report:
Four James River wrestlers are advancing to the quarterfinals tonight after winning their first-round bouts: Luke Arney, Caleb Sink, Jonathan Lancenese and Owen Deacon.
Going into consolation rounds this afternoon are Cody Snead and Tyler Harlow of James River and Sam Ring of Lord Botetourt.
Still awaiting results on at least one more Lord Botetourt wrestler.
We’ll post updates as we have them.
UPDATE, 12:25 p.m.: Lord Botetourt’s Kyle Haley will also be in a consolation round this afternoon.
