On Feb. 12, the students of Eagle Rock Elementary learned about the musical culture of Zimbabwe, Africa, through a marimba workshop lead by Richard Rudolph.
Students, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, were informed about the construction of the marimba along with the musical heritage of the instrument. By the end of the workshop, each class was trained in how to play the marimba and preformed a traditional tune. That evening, Rudolph presented a program about the culture of the marimba at the monthly PTA meeting. After instruction from Rudolph, parents, teachers and students preformed.
