Photos: “Read Across America” features Greenfield Elementary School Upper Grades
On the morning of Feb. 25, the students at Greenfield Elementary School particpated in Read Across America. Readers included those from the community, the Salem Red Sox mascot, Lt. Jeff Stritesky, Lord Botetourt athletes, School board member Ruth Wallace and Administrators John Busher and Wanda Martin and the Botetourt View’s Cathy Benson. The guests read for the attentive classes.
Read Across America is associated with the March 2 birthday of Dr. Seuss the beloved children’s author. A National Education Association program, it encourages students by being read to by adults and is an essential part of the initiative.
