James River Wrestlers won the last Region C tournament (as VHSL alignments change next year.) The James River Knights went into the final day  of  Region C at Rural Retreat High School in 3rd place behind Rural Retreat and Parry McCluer.  At 126 Luke Arney, Caleb Sink 132 and Jonathan Lancenese 145 all won their region  weight classes. Sink is just a freshman but handily pinned his man in the finals.  Kyle King at 170 and Tyler Harlow  195, came in second, Owen Deacon  came in third at 182 and Cody Snead 113 in 4th. Placing but not going to the state tournament are Trey Bruffey 138  and Dakota Harlow 160.

By the end of the day the Knights won with 204.5 points. Kyle King who looked forward to state, hurt a knee during his final bout and Tyler Harlow re-injured a a rib, but hope springs eternal for the State tournament at Salem Civic Center on Friday and Saturday Feb. 15-16.

Congratulations Knights!
