Ranger Bob to provide forestry services for landowners

Ranger Bob1

Bob Boeren is operating a new forestry services business in Botetourt called “Ranger Bob.”

Looking for a way to make extra money with timber on your land? Bob Boeren has over 25 years of experience as a forester. He recently retired from the Virginia Department of Forestry last September. ” I have been hearing that not only businesses in the industry but individuals need services.” Said Boeren. “Ranger Bob” was born to be as a consultant for land owners.”

Those services are to get timber from private land to  businesses like Mead Westvaco.  “Mead Westvaco is busy and is looking for timber and loggers.  I am a readily available experienced forester,” noted Boeren.

Some of the services  include to assess forestry in acreage  and certify properties The timber industry is looking for  sustainable properties–and tha is the cut is replaced with new trees to grow in their place. “I can also provide a forest management plan. The state now charges for the service and I will be competitive.” He is going to be a TSP technical service provider and one of the  things he can bring to the table is the CAP (Conservation Activity Plan) for forest management with cost share. The program associated with it is the NRCS (National Resources Conservation Services) CAP program’s  forestry component. The Land owner signs up for it and ends up with little to no cost for land owner. He has a really good map plan and can formulate a multiple use plan and help the land owner implement it.

Boeren is also familiar with conservation easements on properties and forest land use plans for lower taxes that are offered to  landowners. These can even help multiple land owners over an adjoining lands for lower taxes.

Boeren concluded, “I am very excited about it. I hope to provide needed services that are offered in fewer places in the forestry industry.”
